Education and Experience

Barrett Ross Ginsberg, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with over two decades of experience and a reputation built on something increasingly rare in modern medicine: unhurried, deeply personal care. As the founder and medical director of Ginsberg Eye, a boutique ophthalmology practice in Olde Naples, he set out to build something different. A place where patients feel truly seen, never rushed, and always heard.

That philosophy is backed by an exceptional clinical foundation. Born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in Clearwater, Florida, Dr. Ginsberg earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Virginia before completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Florida. He trained at some of the most respected ophthalmology programs in the country, earning Resident of the Year at the University of Florida Shands Teaching Hospital, then going on to a prestigious fellowship in Cornea, Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery, and Uveitis at the University of California, Davis, under internationally recognized specialists Drs. Mark Mannis and Ivan Schwab.

Over his career, Dr. Ginsberg has performed thousands of eye surgeries, served as an associate professor at both the University of South Florida and Nova Southeastern University, and lectured at leading conferences including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Outside the clinic, he’s an avid endurance athlete who has completed multiple marathons and triathlons, including events up to the half-ironman distance. He and his wife, Dr. Tanimoto, whom he met while both were in fellowship training in California, have made Southwest Florida home in every sense. Together, they have served on the board of directors of the Lighthouse of Collier and volunteered at the Bonita Springs Lions Eye Clinic.
